Red Squirrel

So its been awhile since my last post thankfully I'm back on track and can share with you my latest piece a cute little red squirrel.

Really enjoyed drawing this Westie, below is my first layer of graphite

I then used a dark lead to darken the nose and eye and a rubber to bring out the highlights 

Finally I filled in his collar and tweaked those hairy legs!

After having the reference image for over a year, I finally drew the outline about a month ago but it got pushed to the back of my list, I have finally made a proper start this week. Hopefully it wont take me too long to get it finished
